Arab Quater

Where the famous Ampel Mosque is. The mosque was built by Sunan Ampel, one of the nine saint (Wali Songo) suppose to possess supernatural power. He died in 1401 and was laid to rest in the compound of the mosque. Until to day, his tomb is regularly visited by thousand of pilgrim. The long and narrow street with the structure of the buildings, resemble in the Arab countries.
